Carrie-Anne Moss Cast in Ralph Lamb CBS Pilot

Chuck’s Gertrude Verbanski (or should I say Casey’s?) is headed to the 1960s. Carrie-Anne Moss, most famous for her role of Trinity on The Matrix, will play an ADA.

Also in this post, Once Upon a Time’s Cinderella (Jessy Schram) is headed to ABC’s Last Resort, which is fast shaping up to be one of my most looked-forward-to pilots.

March Madness: White Collar vs. Chuck

White Collar criminal Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) agrees to help the FBI catch other white collar criminals using his expertise as an art and securities thief, counterfeiter and racketeer.

When twenty-something computer geek Chuck (Zachary Levi) inadvertently downloads critical government secrets into his brain, CIA and NSA assign two agents to protect him and exploit such knowledge, turning his life upside down.

One show just ended season 3, the other gave a tearful farewell with season 5 – which one gets your vote? Leave a comment!

March Madness Comes to TV Breakroom

TV Breakroom is doing its own version of March Madness! And there’s a prize!

You will vote between two shows by leaving a comment with your choice on a bracket post (not on this post – though feel free to predict the winner here!). Every 6 days this month, I will close the comments, add up the totals, and set things up for the next stage of the bracket. I’ll link to all of the bracket posts here.

Every comment you leave throughout the month, whether to vote in the bracket or normal comments on other posts, will count as one entry toward a $15 Amazon gift card. Only one comment per post will count as an entry, and comments flagged as spam will be ignored. Contest begins on March 1, 2012 at 12:01 EST and ends March 31, 2012 at 11:59 EDT. Winner must provide email address and respond to winning notification within 3 days.

For a show to qualify, it had to air at least 5 new episodes between June 1, 2011 and February 29, 2012. It also has to be a US show (airing originally on a US broadcast or cable network, no matter where it was filmed), and I have to have seen at least 5 episodes of the show.

Here is the final match-up! The order in which shows would face each other was created by Random.org. Click the match-up to go to its bracket post and vote! Voting for this round ends around 1AM on March 31st, so get your votes in now!

[VIDEO] Chuck, Parenthood, Psych Spoilers — Spoiler Alert!

A new Spoiler Alert! video from TVLine, this one without many spoilers, but it has some great conversation with Zachary Levi from Chuck and the Fox pilot Let It Go, and Parenthood’s Sam Jaeger. Levi offers his thoughts on the Chuck finale, and gives a little more insight into Let It Go. Jaeger and host Michael Ausiello act out an upcoming scene from Psych.

Kristin Kreuk Cast in Beauty and the Beast — The CW

Smallville’s Lana Lang and Chuck’s Hannah has been cast in the lead role of the CW’s Beauty and the Beast remake. The original show starred Linda Hamilton (aka Chuck’s mom!). Here’s hoping the remake will be a vast improvement on the 80s show (I caught part of the pilot on YouTube and it was pretty terrible).

Zachary Levi Cast in Fox’s Let It Go

Well, I was going to write a post speculating where the cast of Chuck would end up this fall, but the pilot descriptions are (usually) so vague it’s hard to see where actors would best fit.

Comedy seems like a great choice for Zachary Levi. I hope Let It Go ends up being more along the lines of the genuinely funny How I Met Your Mother than the annoying awkwardness Fox’s hit comedy, New Girl, has drifted into.

Of course, Chuck fans are already clamoring for Yvonne Strahovski to play his character’s yet uncast wife. Others are eager for a Tangled reunion, though Mandy Moore has already been cast in an ABC comedy. I think No Ordinary Family’s Autumn Reeser (Katie Andrews) would have been a great choice, but she is in an ABC drama pilot already.

I just love getting all these cool hints about what’s coming up next for my favorite shows! (And this site does a great job on not making them too spoilery, but there are still some, so beware!) Loving the look ahead at How I Met Your Mother, Ringer (it’s been too long since there was a new episode!), and even a last peek at Chuck’s final episode!

Fall 2011 Comedy Verdicts

I just made a list of all the shows I’m behind on (it’s getting to be quite a few), but I quickly realized there is one type of show I haven’t put off watching – comedies! Of course, their usual 20-minute length makes them a bit more compatible with a busy schedule than a 45-minute show, but I believe it’s also because I’ve been in the mood to laugh.
