TV Olympics: Favorite Hero/Villain Performance

In this penultimate round of the TV Olympics, we’re looking at actors who have excelled at playing both heroes and villains. Two distinct roles in two different shows were nominated, and now, based on those two performances, it’s time for you to judge which actor embraced their good guy and bad guy sides best.

I know there could have been other roles nominated for these actors, but I went with your suggestions – Nathan Fillion was nominated for Firefly, not Castle, and Jensen Ackles had more votes for Dark Angel than Smallville. There’s still room to nominate additional actors who have played both heroes and villains, but both roles must be on different TV shows (no movies), and the actor should be a main cast member in at least one of those shows.

Tomorrow, the final mini-poll event, cast-performed songs (nominate away, but avoid all-musical shows), will launch, and a week from then we will tally the medals and see who won the 2012 TV Olympics! The current top shows only have 6-8 medals so this is still very much any show’s game!

This poll will be open for one week, and you can choose up to 3 options. Please spread the word so your favorites will win medals, and be sure to vote in all our current Olympic polls!

  1. Love Christian… I will say this though for Morena Baccarin, I don’t think I would have put Anna as her villain ego- I would have put Adria from Stargate SG-1. Adria was part Ori and thought she was the most important and powerful being in the history of the universe. She also had no qualms about killing people, destroying planets, kidnapping her own mother…. I may have voted for THAT one.

    1. I haven’t seen Stargate SG-1 so I didn’t know Morena was in it. But since Adria’s only in 5 episodes, I still think Anna is the better choice. Have you seen V? Anna’s truly a villain, imprisoning her own family, torturing children for her own benefit, killing without a second thought. And her species’ modus operandi is leeching the best from a planet, destroying it, then moving on. Plus you can almost see the lizard-like creature beneath her skin. Creeped me out.

      1. I saw bits and pieces of V, it bored me so I never watched a whole one. And yes Adria was in a handful of episodes as she was added toward the end of the show’s run (Claudia Black who played her mother Vala wasn’t added to the show until the last two seasons) but she was also in one of the two movies after the show ended as well (yeah I know movies don’t count, just saying for reference).

  2. Christian Kane is my favorite actor and my fav singer.and Leverage is my favorite …. the man has got it all..

  3. Christian Kane is a unique actor. Even a bad boy in his performance has an amazing charisma. I love this wonderful actor, and “Leverage” is always rank first on my list of the TV shows!

  4. Christian Kane gets my vote every time! The man is amazing. He can say so much with just a single expression.

  5. Christian Kane – Eliot Spencer (hero) on Leverage, Lindsey McDonald (villain) on Angel

Nathan Fillion – Malcolm Reynolds (hero) on Firefly, Caleb (villain) on Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Leonard Nimoy – Spock (hero) on Star Trek, William Bell (villain) on Fringe

  6. couldn’t agree more, jensen is the best villan, hero, and everything. He’s the best at everything he does.
