This Monday Madness, we’re looking at non-original cast members! Sometimes these characters replaced fan favorites who had left the show (for plot, personal, or business reasons), and often their presence upset the show’s dynamics. Many had a difficult time being accepted by long-time fans of the show, while with others it seemed like they had always been a part of the story. But, begrudgingly or with open arms, we learned to love most of these characters, and now you get to choose which ones are worthy of recognition!
This poll will be open for one week, and you can choose up to 10 of your favorite characters who joined their shows later on. Be sure to spread the word so your favorites will make it into the top 10!
Even though there are 50-some options on this list, I know there are dozens of characters I left out! You can nominate people I missed in the comments, and I may add them to the poll. I tried to limit this mostly to characters who joined after the complete first season, though with shorter-running shows I was more lenient. Want more of a say in who makes it onto the poll each week? Be sure to follow me on Twitter, since I usually ask for nominations for the next Monday Madness the weekend before the new poll. Oh yes, my 2 favorites are at the top, my first vampire love, Spike and my favorite Supernatural Angel, Castiel.

My write-ins would be Donna Noble and River Song from Doctor Who.
I would have voted for Wesley (Angel) and Seven of Nine (ST:Voyager) as well, were they nominated.
While Spike and Castiel rock it for me lately, really the winner of this is Woody from Cheers.
He filled the role of a beloved actor and character (Coach) who passed.
And he did it well. So well he became a superstar and the show continued on for many more years.
I miss more Doctor Who characters to choose from (because I really don’t like Amy, but love the show).

I can’t figure out how to vote on here, but my vote is for Castiel–Misha Collins.
BtVS’ Spike, Angel’s Lorne, Smallville’s Lois, Bones’ Sweets, and Criminal Minds’ David Rossi probably deserve the top 5 honors. Did I vote for all of them? No. But being an avid TV viewer/enthusiast, I think those five deserve it the most.
Desmond from Lost is my all time favorite, couldn’t vote for him though.
Aww, I was hoping my favorite McGeek would be there! He wasn’t technically an original cast member. His first appearance was in season one, but he wasn’t added to the cast int two. Okay, this has turned into fan-girl ranting!
