Once Upon a Time Season 1 Episode 15 Red Preview

Not one, not two, but THREE preview videos for this Sunday’s Red Riding Hood-focused episode of Once Upon a Time. The story occurs fairly early in Fairy Tale land-time – Snow White is on the run after being released by the Huntsman when she meets up with Red. Also, we’ll find out who the Big Bad Wolf really is.

Scoop: Downton Abbey Hottie Replaces Ryan Phillippe in CBS Drama Pilot Golden Boy – TVLine

Interesting. No explanation as to why Kings’ Ryan Phillippe stepped down (other than a vague “cold feet”). The premise of the show isn’t intriguing me, though, so unless some actors I love (haven’t seen Theo James in anything) join I’m likely to pass on this one.

CW’s Arrow Pilot Likened to Jason Bourne Films – TVLine

After a superhero-less year (thanks to the cancellation of Smallville, The Cape, and No Ordinary Family, the only superheroes on TV were SyFy’s Alphas this past summer), it’s nice to see interest in the CW’s Arrow. I like that the pilot will have a Bourne feel, though I’m wondering if the network is planning to replace Nikita with this. Since the Green Arrow is more along the lines of a Batman sort of hero, I’m guessing the grittiness, fighting, and cool gadgets will be on par with Nikita’s. The only good thing (for Nikita at least) about Arrow’s buzz is that the CW may not want to exile the show to Fridays, leaving Nikita to keep its Supernatural lead-in spot.

Carrie-Anne Moss Cast in Ralph Lamb CBS Pilot

Chuck’s Gertrude Verbanski (or should I say Casey’s?) is headed to the 1960s. Carrie-Anne Moss, most famous for her role of Trinity on The Matrix, will play an ADA.

Also in this post, Once Upon a Time’s Cinderella (Jessy Schram) is headed to ABC’s Last Resort, which is fast shaping up to be one of my most looked-forward-to pilots.

Keri Russell Cast in The Americans — FX

I hadn’t heard much about this pilot before this casting, but that’s likely because it’s an FX show. I haven’t watched anything on Fox’s cable network, but The Americans, should it make it to series, sounds like an excellent place to start. The 1980s will make an unusual setting, but the cold war drama and undercover lives should be interesting enough to balance out the cringe-worthy clothes and hairstyles. I enjoy Keri Russell’s acting, so that will be an additional plus.

Terra Nova Cancelled — Fox

I never watched this show, so I’m kind of glad it got canceled, especially since it was so expensive to make. Here’s hoping they’ll put the money and time slot toward something better.

And of course every show Fox cancels improves the chances for the remaining bubble shows. A lot of Fringe fans are hoping it means good news for their show, but I’m rooting for The Finder.

Interesting that they mentioned shopping it around to other networks – that usually doesn’t come up when a show is canceled. Do major cable network shows tend to have a bigger budget than broadcast shows?

Once Upon a Time — Dreamy Preview, Amy Acker

Wow, quite a different look for Amy Acker from her recent Grimm outing! That was more Whiskey (Dollhouse). This character seems to be more Fred (Angel). She’s adorable in all pink. And it’s interesting that the fairy mythology is being developed a little in this video clip.

Jesse Spencer Cast in Chicago Fire — NBC

I knew it wouldn’t be long before Chase was cast somewhere – I’m just disappointed he’s being cast in a pilot I have no desire to watch. I don’t see much of an ongoing story based around a fire department. A few arsonists, a few rescues, a few near-death experiences, and what is the second half of the season going to be about? It could work if the job takes second place to the characters’ personal lives, but given that it’s from Dick Wolf (of Law & Order fame), I’m guessing the show will be more of a procedural drama. And expensive to make.

Also, with House ending, I wonder which other actors will show up on How I Met Your Mother. Last season was Jennifer Morrison. This season was Kal Penn. Who’s next, Odette Annable?

Jay Ryan Cast in The Beauty and the Beast — The CW

Not familiar with this actor, but hoping this show will make it to series, with Kristin Kreuk on board. I’m rooting for ABC’s Beauty and the Beast a bit more, just because I’m really happy with what they’ve done with Once Upon a Time.

“The Finder” Moves To Fridays On April 6, ‘Hotel Hell’ Premiere Pushed To Summer – Ratings | TVbytheNumbers

The Finder’s only going away for a month, returning at 8PM on Fridays. Its Friday premiere will feature 50 Cent and Eureka’s Salli Richardson-Whitfield.

I’m really excited by the news, as it offers hope that The Finder will do really well in its new time slot (with competition from only one other scripted show, Nikita), and still garner a renewal.
