White Collar Preview — Tim DeKay, Season 3 Episode 16

Meant to post this yesterday – Tim DeKay (who plays Peter Burke) dishes on White Collar’s baseball episode (set at Yankee Stadium) and on the season finale (and it sounds like the show is going to be just as mean with this finale as the others!).

Hyperion to Publish Three Original EBooks in Richard Castle’s Acclaimed Derrick Storm Series – Ratings | TVbytheNumbers

I love how there are novels “written” by Richard Castle, even though he’s just a character on a TV show. It’s cool how his Derrick Storm series is being resurrected just as we meet the inspiration for much of the series.

PaleyFest 2012 Cast Panel Line-Up: Revenge, Bones, Once Upon a Time

I find it funny that I could go to this for only one week of the event, and see every show I care about: Community, Once Upon a Time, New Girl, The Office, Bones, and Castle! Community has all of the main cast except Pierce and Troy confirmed, Once Upon a Time has most of the adults on the show, New Girl has the four roommates and Cece, The Office looks to have just about everyone but the new CEO, Bones is also missing the boss but has the rest of the main 6, and Castle has the whole gang!

Donald Sutherland Cast in Fox Comedy Pilot

I’m wondering how much the chances of a pilot being picked up for series improve when a big-name actor is cast. For example, I’d hadn’t remembered the title or description of Fox’s Living Loaded, though I remembered that a Pan Am actor was starring in some pilot. Now, I’m actually paying attention to it, since Donald Sutherland is in it.

Other news in the article linked below include: Life Unexpected alum Austin Basis joining the CW’s Beauty and the Beast, Heather Burns (Miss Congeniality) being cast in NBC’s Save Me, Emily Swallow (she recently played a cop on Ringer) in TNT’s Chelsea General, and Eamonn Walker (Kings’ Samuel) as the chief in NBC’s Chicago Fire.

NBC’s Awake: Watch the Premiere Here and Now! – TVLine

Just finished watching Awake’s premiere and loved it! Very interesting psychologically – and both realities have a washed-out look that adds a surreal touch to the show. I loved how the crimes intersected in strange ways. I’ve been anticipating this show for the better part of a year, and I’m glad it didn’t disappoint!

The 2011-2012 TV season has certainly been one for online premieres. From Fox’s New Girl to NBC’s own Grimm and Smash, shows offering a sneak peek at the first episode seem to be doing pretty well ratings-wise. While people (like me) who watch a premiere online before it airs might not tune into the TV premiere, the word of mouth the show garners in return seems worth it.

However, an online premiere alone doesn’t make a show a guaranteed success. Bad buzz spreads just as fast (or faster) than good buzz.

Kristin Kreuk Cast in Beauty and the Beast — The CW

Smallville’s Lana Lang and Chuck’s Hannah has been cast in the lead role of the CW’s Beauty and the Beast remake. The original show starred Linda Hamilton (aka Chuck’s mom!). Here’s hoping the remake will be a vast improvement on the 80s show (I caught part of the pilot on YouTube and it was pretty terrible).

Ryan Hansen Cast in El Jefe — Fox

El Jefe’s description: “a well-off guy in his early 30s who finally gets booted out of his dad and step-mom’s house and moves in with his cleaning woman’s family since he had nowhere else to go” seems like the perfect show for an actor I know best as Dick Casablancas from Veronica Mars.

But Veronica Mars alums seem to be popping up everywhere lately! Kristin Bell is on House of Lies. Max Greenfield is on New Girl. Enrico Colantoli was on Person of Interest. Jason Dohring is on Ringer. And Erica Gimpel (who played Wallace’s mom, Alicia Fennel) just showed up on Nikita.

Matt’s Inside Line: Scoop on NCIS, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Smash, Justified and More! – TVLine

More details on Jamie Lee Curtis guest starring on NCIS (she’ll be there February 21 and March 20 – guessing the latter is when Sean Austin will join her). Hetty will be refereeing a game of basketball on NCIS: Los Angeles, Dr. Whale will return in a Red Riding Hood themed episode of Once Upon a Time, and the decision of who will play Marilyn on Smash doesn’t mean things will be going smoothly from now on.

Colbert Report Suspends Production, Lauralee Bell to Castle

Well, since Castle follows Dancing with the Stars, it’s only fitting that they should have a murder investigation probing the world of reality TV dancing competitions. Lauralee Bell will spoof Paula Abdul in the episode that airs March 19.

Joss Whedon’s ‘In Your Eyes’ Lands Leads – Deadline.com

No, this isn’t TV news, but I’ve been hearing so much about pilots casting leads that for a second I was like, wait, Joss Whedon’s doing a TV show? Sadly, no. But there is a TV connection. Michael Stahl-David was recently seen on Person of Interest, as the son of Harold Finch’s partner in building the machine.
