Jason Isaacs of NBC’s Awake Previews Episode 3, Big Mysteries

NBC’s twisty take on a cop drama, Awake, has Detective Michael Britten living in two realities – one where his wife made it out of a car accident alive but his son didn’t, and one where his son did but his wife didn’t. This interview gets the actor behind the detective’s perspective and offers some hints about what’s real and what isn’t. A few mild spoilers, so be forewarned!

Comedy Central Acquires Off-Net Rights to ‘Community’ – Ratings | TVbytheNumbers

Most shows need 88 episodes to get syndicated, but Community has defied the odds and already picked up an off-net rights deal with Comedy Central halfway through season 3. Season 4 is looking more and more likely, but hopefully increased exposure for the show will lead to six seasons and a movie!

CBS Renewals for 2012-13 TV Season – Blue Bloods

CBS is starting the renewal season off with a bang, announcing the renewal of 15 more shows (in addition to 3 which had already been renewed, including The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother).

Freshmen shows that got the early pickup were 2 Broke Girls and Person of Interest. The low-rated but critically acclaimed The Good Wife also was renewed.

As for the shows not renewed thus far, it doesn’t mean they’re canceled, just that CBS is waiting on cast confirmations and pilot viewing before deciding the rest of their schedule, but I wouldn’t care if all of them ended up not being renewed. NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Blue Bloods, in addition to the shows mentioned above, are the only ones I care about.

For a full list of the renewed shows, visit the link below.

Dan Harmon talks about ‘Community’s’ solid return – JSOnline

Interview with the creator of Community, Dan Harmon. It’s interesting seeing how fan reactions impact people working on a show as they’re writing and filming it. I’m surprised that the hiatus had so much of an impact on Mr. Harmon, and I hope the tone of the show won’t be changed too much. Looking forward to Community’s return this Thursday!

Castle Creator Weighs In on ‘Spectacular’ Finale Buzz, Dismisses Veronica Mars-Style Spin-Off – TVLine

Hmm, I hadn’t heard hints about Alexis having her own spin-off, but I’m kind of glad one doesn’t seem to be in the works. I like Alexis being on her “dad’s” show, but I’m not sure she’s a strong enough character to helm her own. Now, if she brought her grandmother along for the ride, I could see a show working, but where would Castle be without his mother and daughter?

This article also hints at the May 7th finale without giving much away. The finale means after tonight’s Castle-less evening, there will only be two more Mondays this season without a brand new Castle! The rest of May will seem very empty, though.

What do you think this finale holds? Leave your speculations in the comments below!

Scoop: 2 Broke Girls’ Nick Zano Cast Opposite Kal Penn in ABC Comedy Pilot Prairie Dogs – TVLine

Those hoping 2 Broke Girls’ Johnny would realize the error of his ways and return to Max’s life are likely to be disappointed – Nick Zano has just been cast in ABC’s Prairie Dogs. The show’s title actually seems like a misnomer – it’s about a cubical worker (Kal Penn) whose identity is stolen, and when he realizes the con man (Zano) did a lot more with his identity than he ever did, he hires him to help him improve his prospects.

While searching to see if the actor who plays Monroe on Grimm has a Twitter account (currently, no), I came across this awesome interview with him! From his first acting gig in third grade playing Hansel (from the Grimm story Hansel and Gretel!) to how he manages filming in Portland while his wife lives in LA, Silas gives a fun look at his life and his unexpected popularity as Monroe.

Grimm “Plumed Serpent” With Danielle Panabaker | TV Equals

Tonight’s fire-breathing Grimm stars Danielle Panabaker (who I’m most familiar with on the movie Sky High; her sister Kay starred in No Ordinary Family). This time, Nick’s duties as a Grimm threaten the person he loves most – Juliette. Check out a sneak peek below.

Julie Benz, Jaime Murray Join Syfy Drama Defiance

Warehouse 13 meets Joss Whedon’s Buffy/Angel as both Jaime Murray (who played H.G. Wells on Warehouse 13) and Julie Benz (who played Darla on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel) have been cast in SyFy’s drama Defiance. If that’s not cool enough, the futuristic frontier vibe screams Firefly, although this time the setting is a war-ravaged Earth cohabited by humans and aliens. Definitely something I want to check out!

Scottie Thompson Joins Graceland — USA Network

Scottie Thompson, perhaps best known as Jeanne Benoit on NCIS (back in the good ol’ Tony DiNardo days), and she also starred in the short-lived medical show Trauma. She’ll be playing a DEA agent who shares an undercover house with agents from the FBI and US Customs. The USA Network pilot is from White Collar creator Jeff Eastin.

Booktalk & More: Once Upon a Time 1.12: “Skin Deep”

My favorite TV reviewer posts about one of my favorite episodes of one of my favorite shows! I’ve been waiting to hear Ruth’s thoughts on “Skin Deep” for a while.

Like her, I was originally disappointed about Rumpelstiltskin playing the Beast, but I soon saw the genius of it and the episode won me over completely! I can’t wait until they revisit the story some more.
