If Cabin in the Woods, The Avengers, and Much Ado about Nothing weren’t enough Joss Whedon for 2012, it looks like he’s working on something else. Supernatural romance sounds intriguing, but I really hope he gets back to the world of television soon (I’ll even settle for a web series).

I won’t be able to catch this live, but I’ll definitely be catching it Monday, especially to see Emma Caulfield (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Bandwagon). A little disappointed to read that she won’t appear in Maine, but I do hope she’ll make it back for another episode (though of course the ending to the traditional Hansel and Gretel story would prevent that).

I was thinking about reviewing this awesome episode of Grimm, but Ruth Anderson already did a great job of it. Though I did wonder why Nick felt like he had to keep his friendship with Monroe a secret from Hank. Sure, they don’t seem to have much in common (though really, what are Nick’s hobbies?), but no reason not to let Hank know they’ve had a few beers together.
The look on Monroe’s face after he shot the ogre makes me wonder if this whole “helping a Grimm” thing is getting to him. After all, he’s helping get rid of creatures who, while not exactly his allies, still have a lot in common with him.
I was surprised The Finder did so poorly on its first time out, but it had a lot of competition at 9PM: Person of Interest (with most viewers ever – probably thanks to an awesome fall finale), Grey’s Anatomy, The Office, and The Secret Circle. I thought The Finder’s pilot (which featured finding a missing pilot) was decent, but I’m probably going to watch Person of Interest live from now on (maybe CBS.com’s video player stinks on purpose, since that makes people want to watch live instead). Going to check out Rob – if it’s good, I’ll be watching CBS from 8-10 on Thursdays.
Ha – this episode is bound to be hilarious! Deeks is the best thing to happen to NCIS: Los Angeles since Hetty replaced Macy.
Interesting look at how Hulu’s double-pronged revenue model (Hulu Plus and ads) is working for them. It’s nice to know that they’re using that to pay content providers more for shows rather than just lining their own pockets. I wish some content providers would be less stingy with their shows in return (USA Network’s 30-day delays and such). The only major network that doesn’t have their shows on Hulu is CBS, but I vastly prefer Hulu’s player to the CBS website buggy one (it does have one benefit – shows are put up around 2AM the morning after they air, compared to Hulu’s 6AM). I watch the majority of the shows I miss live on Hulu.
Fans of How I Met Your Mother have been waiting years to finally meet the future Mrs. Ted Mosby, but since the show is doing so well, it’s understandable that the network and showrunners want to delay that moment as long as possible. Altering the show so it can continue in a slightly different form after we meet the mother sounds like a good compromise. (If it keeps going in it’s current form too much longer, the sequel series could have Future Ted telling his grandchildren the story of “How I Raised Your Mother”.)

FAVORITE NEW TV DRAMA
Surprised that Person of Interest won this! It’s a solid show that keeps improving, but hasn’t seem to create the buzz and fans that shows like Once Upon a Time (which I voted for) have.
FAVORITE NEW TV COMEDY
2 Broke Girls was my vote, and it won.
Hmm, something that may finally get me to watch Hawaii Five-O! It airs at the same time as Castle, so I’ve rather been rooting for its demise, even though it seems like a decent show. The one episode I caught during the middle of season one didn’t wow me, and while several of the show’s actors are familiar, none were favorites. And I had plenty of cop shows to keep me busy anyway.
Finding out one of the show’s villains is played by James Marsters sparked my interest in the show again, but I couldn’t justify trying to squeeze in another show for only a reoccurring guest. But since the crossover in question doesn’t happen until May, maybe I will have time to catch up with the season and a half of Hawaii Five-O that has aired so far.
At least I now know what Kensi’s mysterious Hawaii trip was about!

Yay, more Psych! Not that there was any doubt this awesome show would be renewed, but it’s nice to know we’re in for many more Shawn and Gus moments. And I love the fun way James Roday and Dule Hill announced the renewal.
